AVIATION SUPERVISOR (BASED IN NAURU)

The Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible to drive and operate heavy equipment in accordance with the Vital Group’s operational requirements to effectively carry out daily operational duties. The role reports to the Construction Foreman.

The Heavy Equipment Operator will be responsible for the following duties:

• Valid heavy equipment operator license and clean driving record with demonstrated experience safely operating and driving industrial equipment
• Pre-operational inspection and driving safety expertise including ability to conduct thorough equipment checks before operating or driving any machinery
• Strong communication skills while operating to report equipment issues, operational difficulties, and unusual findings promptly to supervisors during operations
• Mechanical troubleshooting knowledge during operation with ability to recognize oil leakage, engine problems, and other equipment malfunctions while driving or operating
• Safety-first driving and operating mindset with commitment to completing all operational and driving tasks safely, efficiently, and on time while adhering to strict safety protocols
• Material handling and driving coordination experience including secure arrangement and stacking of cargo while operating equipment to prevent collisions and damage
• Site traffic compliance while driving and operating with proven ability to follow site traffic arrangements, directions, and operational procedures during all equipment operations
• Authorization-based operating and driving approach ensuring no materials are moved or equipment driven without explicit instructions and all tasks follow approved job orders
• Shift handover and equipment transition proficiency with experience completing operational handovers and equipment transfers without disrupting ongoing operations
• Fuel efficiency awareness during operations demonstrating responsibility for powering down and properly parking equipment during idle periods to reduce operational costs

She/he is to ensure that all tasks performed are conducted in a safe manner and in accordance with the company’s operating procedure guideline.

Qualification & Experience

Essential

• Minimum of 2-3 years of hands-on experience in operating heavy equipment’s in a factory, construction, or industrial setting.
• Class A driver’s license

Desirable

• Experience in an operation or industry where on-time and accurate customer deliveries are paramount. Prior experience in the broader energy industry is a plus.
