AVIATION SUPERVISOR (BASED IN NAURU)

The Marine Boat Operator operates and maintains boats and watercraft in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to nautical regulations and ensuring the safety of passengers and cargo. The role reports to the Marine and Logistics Manager.

The Marine Boat Operator will be responsible for the following duties:

• Operate boats and watercraft safely on inland or coastal waters while maintaining proper speed and course throughout all operations
• Monitor weather conditions continuously and make necessary course adjustments to ensure safe navigation and operational efficiency
• Maintain vessel safety equipment through regular inspections and upkeep to meet maritime safety standards and regulations
• Conduct radio communications with other vessels and provide professional assistance to passengers and crew members as required
• Handle passenger and cargo operations by safely and efficiently loading and unloading all materials and personnel
• Create vessel optimization plans and coordinate with vessels to ensure optimal bunker fuel consumption and operational efficiency
• Coordinate discharge and loading operations by sending accurate information to terminals and updating cargo planning systems
• Maintain accurate vessel stowage records and ensure precise cargo planning while updating internal systems with current information
• Perform regular vessel maintenance tasks and carry out essential navigational duties to ensure safe passage and operational readiness
• Plan navigational routes using nautical charts and maritime navigation tools to ensure safe and efficient vessel operations

She/he is to ensure that all tasks performed are conducted in a safe manner and in accordance with the company’s operating procedure guideline.

Qualification & Experience

Essential

• Skilled in safely operating and manoeuvring boats in various marine conditions.
• Understands charts, GPS, weather patterns, tides, and maritime signals.
• Knowledge of local and international boating laws, including port rules.
• Proficient in using safety equipment and responding to emergencies such as man overboard, fire, or engine failure.
• Able to perform routine vessel checks and basic troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical systems.
• FSM Boat Master License.

Desirable

• Aware of fuel handling, spill prevention, and environmental protection practices.
• Class 5 Master License 
• Safety of Life at Sea training
